The G.D. St-Amand Memorial Trophy

Each year, the names of the top male and female finishers are engraved and added to the G.D. St-Amand Memorial Trophy, which is displayed year-round in Bedford’s BMO Centre arena.

Ran for the Liberal Party in the Bedford-Fall River riding in 1999

Served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 22 years with postings to Ottawa and Germany before retiring to begin his civilian career in Bedford

Instilled in both of his boys a spirit of community service that inspired the Bedford 5k to Beat Lung Cancer

Participated in the first Bedford 5k to Beat Lung Cancer (2008) by wheelchair. The medal he received that day has been silver-plated and mounted on the memorial trophy
