Volunteers Needed
We need you! The Bedford 5k to Beat Lung Cancer requires about 20 volunteers to ensure that the event runs smoothly for all participants, and we have many different volunteering positions available, including:
-
Course Marshall - at least 6 are needed to be positioned at various points on the race route, watching to ensure that the course route is being followed correctly and to summon assistance if a participant experiences distress.
-
Time Keeper - positioned at the finish line, the time keeper records finishing times as participants complete the course.
-
Position Keeper - obtains the race bib number from each participant in the order in which they cross the finish line
-
Medal Awarding - positioned at the finish line, this person awards each finisher with their medal
-
Water Station Attendant - this individual oversees the water station
-
Registration Desk - various roles at the pre-event registration station
-
Milestone Marker Team - at least 4 are needed to put up our milestone markers along the course route
-
Production Assistant - someone to assist with setup and tear down - some medium/heavy lifting required
-
Route Sweeper - one person to walk the route behind the entire crowd to ensure everyone is off the course when we wrap up
To volunteer, please email us at volunteer@bedford5k.com and tell us what you would like to help out with. We'd be thrilled to have you join us!
